What is your refund policy?
Refund policy for the driver education class will be based on the number of driving hours completed at the time of withdrawal. Each student at time of withdrawal will be charged at a rate of $75 per hour if they withdraw prior to class completion.
What is the penalty for withdrawing from the program last minute or after it started?
Do you charge a cancellation fee?
Not if it is ahead of time and reschedlued with the instructor, but be aware that the completion date will be pushed back as the scheduling is always booked solid.
What happens if a student does not show for a scheduled driving hour?
Any student not showing up for a scheduled driving hour will owe $20.00. payable the next class or next driving hour. Student will be resecheduled when the fee is covered. Emergency situations will be evaluated by the program director and the instructor.
Classroom
What are the class times?
During the school year; September to June:
Tuesdays & Thursdays afternoon 2:30pm to 4:30pm
There is one mandatory Parents' night varies; mostly a Tuesday or Thursday night (second day of the class) 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
Our summer class; End of June to August:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays morning 8:30am to 10:30am.
No classes for the week of the 4th of July.

Can I complete the classroom in parallel with the behind-the-wheel instruction?
Depending on the students' availability, it can be at the same time. The average time of completion is usually 1-2 weeks after the classroom requirements are completed.
What happens if I miss a class?
The State of New Hampshire law is very clear. Student drivers attending a licensed program cannot miss more than two classes under exceptional circumstances. On a third absence, the student is removed from the class and assigned to the next class. The first two absences have to be made up before certification can be given for the class completion.
What happens when a student does not complete the work required?
Classwork requirements
NH Driver Education Program are integrative, meaning classwork and driving hours happen in a coordinated fashion with a learning progression behind the wheel and in the classroom. Students with due late work (3 or more homeworks including class makeup) will be witheld from driving instruction until the work is completed and turned in.
Driver Ed
When and where do I bring the paperwork?
The eye check document and the copy of your birth certificate are the only 2 document you need in hard copy. They will be collected at the first class in the MHS lecture hall.
How do I pay for the class?
When you create your account, it will give you options to pay with a debit or credit card?
Can I pay by check(s) for the program?
It is possible but, you need to contact the program director to get approval and make arrangement if you need multiple payments.
How long does it take to complete driver ed?
The State of New Hampshire requires student driver to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction, 10 hours of behing-the-wheel training, and 6 hours of in-car observation. The average time of completion based on state regulation averages two months for our program.
Do I need a permit to start driver ed?
No, just a copy of your birth certificate and the payment required at registration.
When can I start driver ed?
The sates requires the students to be 15 years and 9 months old at the date the class begins.
Are your instructors licensed?
All our instructors are licensed by the state of New Hampshire. They must complete continuing education to renew their licensing evey three years.
Behind-the-Wheel
What safety equipment are your cars equipped with?
Standard DOT requirments for the vehicle we use; seatbelts, airbags etc.
Do I need a temporary permit to schedule my driving lessons?
In New Hampshire, you need a copy of your birth certificate with you when you drive. We require you to bring a copy at registration. The instructor driving with you carries the copy during your driving lessons.
Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?
No, as a student driver under 18 in New Hampshire, you are covered.
Can I use my own car?
No, we are providing the vehicle that is approved by the New Hampshire DMV for driving instruction.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my driving lesson?
You must contact your instructor as soon as possible. This will delay your planned time of completionl. It will also affect your partner for driving lessons.
Can I request to have lessons with a friend?
Student drivers are assigned by location. Due to picking up and dropping off, we llike to keep students that have a driving distance apart less than 10 minutes away. If you and your friend are close enough, it is possible.
Will I have other students in the car with me?
We keeps groups of two driving together to make it easier on the out-of-town drives. It is possible for few lessons that a student could be required to drive one-on-one. Exceptionally, there could also be up to three students in the car.
Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?
Yes, you will have the same instructor for the 10 hours of behind-the-wheel training and six hours of in-car observation. It provides a better continuity of instruction. There could be exceptions due to unpredicable circumstances.
Can I request a specific driving instructor?
We are assigning students and instructors based on locations and distance from the instructor's residence.
Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?
Yes, we do if you are being picked up and dropped off in Milford. If you live outside of the milford borders, you must be dropped off and picked up at Milford High School.
When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?
As soon as your instructor is assigned to you, he/she will contact you and setup a weekly schedule.
Do you offer extra instruction hours behind the wheel?
It is a possibility upon approval by the program director and the school administration based on the student's needs and instructor's evaluation. If agreed, a contract will be drawn and the student will be charged per the current hourly rate.
